Director - Global Physical Security - Asurion - Nashville


Job description
The Director of Physical Security is responsible for the oversight and direction of all facilities owned or occupied by Asurion around the globe and all Asurion owned physical assets that are in or around Asurion facilities. This role is accountable to provide the vision and strategy to secure Asurion property and to ensure effective processes to accomplish Asurion’s physical security strategy. The monitoring and enforcement of Asurion’s physical security policies and procedures will be the responsibility of this position. This position must work closely and collaborate effectively with business leaders across the enterprise, especially the leaders of Facilities, IT, Security/Risk/Compliance, HR, Safety and Legal. The Director of Physical Security is responsible for the effective management of third party service providers with whom Asurion contracts. This position has global scope and responsibilities, manages a multi-million dollar budget and oversees matters of high confidence, importance and privacy.

Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and enforce physical security policies and standards for the global enterprise
Oversee the protection of the company’s facilities from physical security threats

Oversee the management and effectiveness of physical security services contracted from third parties (including but not limited to security guard services)
Oversee, maintain and monitor physical security infrastructure
Oversee the management and monitoring of access into and within Asurion facilities
Implement, manage and monitor surveillance of exterior doors and highly sensitive areas within company facilities
Direct physical security investigations
Ensure adherence to security standards against which Asurion has certified itself at company data centers, logistics centers and other mission critical locations
Facilitate and support audits of physical security that are conducted on behalf of customers, industry groups, governments and others
Oversee physical security processes to ensure that they meet established business SLAs
Prevent, detect and investigate theft of physical assets at Asurion
Facilitate and support company interactions with law enforcement for physical security incidents
Perform physical security risk assessments as required
Work and collaborate with Facilities, Employee Safety, Insurance, Information security, IT Risk Management and management at facilities worldwide to implement and maintain physical security

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
Ten to fifteen years of senior level leadership experience in the physical security field
In-depth knowledge of physical security, investigation, crisis management principles
Experience managing physical security on an international scale
Prefer experience in managing teams that span geographical locations
Experience conducting and overseeing investigations
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to work across functional boundaries, build consensus and drive results
Certified Protection Professional credential preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills along with good presentation skills
Must be able to balance competing priorities, have a strong process orientation and able to manage through complexity and high pressure situations
Highest ethical standards and strong sense of propriety are a must
Occasional non-standard shifts and travel will be required (must maintain valid passport)
