Job description
The Director of Finance & Administration is a senior corporate leadership position reporting directly to the Radius President. This position provides critical financial leadership and operational oversight to ensure the effective management of all organizational systems and business administration. This is the key point person for finance at the global level of the organization and needs to operate closely aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the Radius president. This includes leadership participation in helping to establish and lead the firm’s performance and growth strategies, establishing and maintaining key metrics, and supporting the firms continued global growth and through strategic footprint and service expansion.
As a contemporary financial thought leader in a global consulting business, this person needs to have the range and ability to look through both a “stewardship lens of accounting” lens but also the “strategy and value creation” lens of a business leader to balance needs of the firm.
This individual is also responsible for the direction, oversight, risk management, and continuous improvement of Radius financial systems as they relate to maintaining a profitable and sustainable business. The role includes the responsibility for business level contractual negotiating and legal review to insure profitability while also mitigating the contractual risk of the organization. This person must be able to approach this role with an eye for continuous operational and process improvement while deploying a collaborative coaching style approach with our teams that is supportive of building an empowered team culture that is foundational to the firm’s success. This position is a crucial liaison for linking the various Radius locations with global operations and the corporate leadership team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a true business partner and trusted advisor to the President in assessing organizational performance against operating effectiveness, key performance metrics, the annual budget management, goals and objectives management, and company’s long term success.
Lead the accounting and finance functions for all global and domestic locations including month-end close, year-end audit, corporate taxes, financial statement preparation, etc.
Assist in establishing yearly objectives, meeting agendas and off-site planning
Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the firm’s strategic plan, especially as the organization considers collaborations with external investors.
Provide guidance and support to the President as it related to any and all growth initiatives including any joint ventures and acquisitions, partnership structure, legal agreements, facility set-up and management, capital financing, etc.
Provide oversight and administrative leadership and support as a strategic partner for the various functions and leaders of the organization (operating sites, human resources, business development, marketing, and product development)
Participant in key decisions and goal and objective management follow through pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.
Continued management, mentorship, and the development of the finance/accounting team suitable for maintaining a highly functioning team that can support the ongoing business requirements of the firm.
Develop and track annual budgets and monthly forecasts
Create and monitor key financial metrics and analysis along with preparing and presenting quarterly financial packages to management and the Board of Directors
Create, implement and help enforce internal policies and procedures
Domestic & International travel will be required.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BS in accounting or finance (MBA preferred)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE TYPICALLY REQUIRED
8 to 10 years of relative experience
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Prior managerial experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with project & financial accounting systems(preferred)
