Job description
We're looking for a CMF Design Expert to help create a new generation of innovative consumer products. You will be responsible for leading and shaping future products via color, material and finish development. The primary focus of this role is to define, develop and prove out product and new designs.

Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Industrial Designer team to develop and refine color materials and finishes for products
Create inspiring presentations that communicate product stories well through proposed CMF
Sketching, vector and raster artwork
3D-CAD rendering
Establish and maintain a material library for the product development team; contribute to a great design team culture
Occasional international travel
Lead trend research, materials and processes R&D, analysis and strategy
Implement CMF specifications for manufacturing and work closely with ID, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality execution


Desired Skills and Experience
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, product design, or equivalent
Experience in the development of high-volume consumer products
10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or product design of consumer products
5+ years managing an engineering team
Advanced knowledge and experience using Creo/ProE and SolidWorks
Working knowledge of using FEA tools
Knowledge of dimensioning and performing statistical tolerance analysis
Experience with Asia manufacturing suppliers including travel to China factories
Experience in household appliances is a plus
