L Brands is seeking a Director, Regulatory Affairs to lead the Regulatory team supporting our lingerie and apparel categories for our Victorias Secret, PINK and La Senza brands! This position is located in our Columbus, OH home office.

JOB TITLE: Director Regulatory Affairs Lingerie & Apparel
DEPARTMENT: Regulatory Affairs
REPORTS TO: AVP, Global Regulatory Affairs

OVERVIEW:
- Leadership position responsible for global regulatory and safety support, strategic planning, scoping, advisement and driving solutions for the successful launch and lifecycle of compliant apparel.
- Key trusted advisor to internal and external partners providing strategic perspective and timely regulatory and safety oversight, guidance and input throughout the product development process for all apparel brands.
- Performs compliance and business risk analysis establishing recommendations to cross functional partners and the Enterprise/Mast leadership
- Key interface with brand and technical teams in support of product concept, claims, product positioning, compliance and testing standards
- Strategic oversight and determination of regional feasibility of product development and new market entry, utilizing and managing local partners, consultants and direct assessment of regulations. Creates, communicates and executes plans with cross functional stakeholders across Mast and the Enterprise based on those analyses.
- Communicate emerging trade association activities and/or governmental monitoring to cross functional teams, Mast leadership and/or Enterprise
- Responsible for day to day, short and long term planning and priority setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Compliance Management
- Responsible for leading global apparel compliance programs
- Responsible for ensuring global product compliance of apparel/intimates categories
- Accountable for overseeing and advising on research, new technology assessment, industry benchmarking and competitive product analysis.
- Responsible for understanding and mastering the application of global labeling, material and product regulations, testing and performance standards and educating applicable teams and cross functional partners.
- Responsible for interfacing with brand and technical teams in support of product concept, claims and product positioning. Accountable for ensuring substantiation in place in support of product claims.
- Accountable for partnering with cross functional stakeholders and supporting compliance programs
- Accountable for supporting and the engagement of issue resolution
- Accountable for developing and implementing functional area metrics and analysis
- Accountable for cross-functional collaboration in support of material and product compliance.
- Accountable for maintaining compliance management strategies, communication and training

Emerging Issues Management / External Monitoring
- Responsible for supporting issues management, monitoring and communication
- Responsible for supporting and participation in issues resolution
- Responsible for stakeholder engagement and communication of emerging issues

Material Strategies and Oversight
- Responsible for supporting corporate ingredient/material communication strategies
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of comprehensive global material management strategies

Government Agency and Trade Association Management
- Interaction with government agencies in support of critical business, operational and/or compliance issues
- Responsible for representing Mast Global on technical committees in support of business strategies

Talent Management
- Lead multiple associates who may include Managers, Senior Specialists, Specialists and/or Technicians.
- Member of Regulatory Affairs leadership team
- Actively participates in hiring new team members. Assists in onboarding new associates and training cross functional partners
- Creation and execution for self and direct reports for the performance management process
- Participate and support Associate Opinion Survey (AOS) initiatives
- Coaching and Feedback, Reward and Recognition
- Develop and retain high performers within the Regulatory Team

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10+ years of broad technical experience supporting compliance management practices and process related to the apparel industry.
- Direct experience in regulatory, safety and performance testing with apparel merchandise.
- Experience with intimate apparel preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and direct application of laws and regulations pertaining to apparel
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, apparel or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 + years of managing direct reports
- Must have experience developing, implementing and managing programs and processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. An ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally adapting to both technical and non-technical audiences with all levels of employees, leadership, consultants, and regulatory entities
- Ability to balance critical thinking methods: define problems, collect and interpret relevant data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement countermeasures with that of creative thinking to drive change and innovation
- Proven ability to execute for results through collaboration, passion and creative problem solving
