Director - Digital Analytics - HBO - Midtown Manhattan


Job description

Responsibilities
Work with DP to ensure smooth tracking implementation and ultimately accurate reporting; from creation of business requirements through testing implementation
Work with the product teams on developing the ability to report on upcoming enhanced TV, game consoles, connected TV HBO initiatives
Coordinate with the other areas in the HBO research team to ensure a cohesive research strategy for the online space and the ability to track program performance across the various platforms
Manage digital analytics budget; including the negotiating the costs and working through contractual process with HBO legal as well as seeking perspectives and cost savings with other TW divisions
Manage 3 direct reports. Ensure that the reports have proper training to expand and enhance their practical knowledge for the business
Develop expertise on online measurement tools and suppliers. Recognize and develop meaningful methodologies and metrics to measure usage.
Work with Nielsen to integrate online measurement with traditional reporting tools. Requires developing new research systems, metrics and reporting
Develop and approve the release of all regularly distributed reports
Ensure that the principals of HBO’s Data Governance are applied, monitored and updated accordingly for HBO’s digital footprint
Represent HBO’s interests on a variety of outside working groups – CTAM, CIMM and DAA.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required MBA or similar advanced degree desired
10 years of equivalent work experience
Media and entertainment required, broadcast or cable preferred
Expert understanding of Adobe Site catalyst and syndicated online research
Must have complete understanding of the technical (tagging) impact on the research results and be able to communicate and work with the IT group and its clients on the proper implementation to achieve results
Broad understanding or primary research and traditional syndicated media research
Superior communication skills and a mastery in conveying complex analyses to various levels of management both written and orally. And the ability to navigate differing POV on the analysis
Advanced analytic skills, creativity and initiative. The ability to reformulate client needs into research objectives
