Vice President - PR Crisis & Issues Management - Edelman - Atlanta


Job description
delman’s Atlanta office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced crisis and issues management practitioner. We are seeking a Vice President to enhance Edelman’s Crisis & Risk Management and Public Affairs practices in the Southeast Region and in supporting related work nationally and in some instances, globally. Expertise in crisis readiness, complex issues such as legal and regulatory matters is required. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and gain exposure to the broader Edelman network.

Some responsibilities of the Vice President:
The Vice President is responsible for securing, maintaining and growing business. Additionally the VP will provide strategic counsel and guidance to the account teams to ensure success. S/he will be a detail-oriented, self-starter who can lead high-profile, multi-office accounts for the firm and work under demanding deadlines. The VP will be responsible for the overall direction of the account team as it relates to client service, staffing, training, organizational development, and quality control.

Desired Skills and Experience
Some of the qualifications we are seeking in a Vice President:
- A demonstrated track record in managing complex crisis, risk and public affairs assignments
- Previous political campaign experience highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of the policy and regulatory environment – in California and nationally
- Experience in working with legal teams, both in-house and outside counsel
- Experience in working with media, including investigative journalists
- The ability to multi-task, triage and work under demanding deadlines
- The candidate will be collaborative, a team player and possess strong leadership qualities
- An entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building out Edelman’s offering in crisis and public affairs

Basic qualifications:
- The vice president must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in crisis management and/or public affairs
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a law degree is a plus
