Director - Retail Intelligence - Nike - Portland

Job description
Working in Nike's Direct to Consumer Business Analytics team will be rewarding, it will be challenging, and it will most definitely not be just another job. You'll be an ambassador of the Nike brand -- everything we stand for: drive, determination, the unyielding commitment to excellence, these all will be a part of your everyday experience. We're committed to making every consumer's experience a rewarding one, and as a member of our team, your contributions will be a big part of our success

We aren’t looking for a run of the mill “reporting” person—we’re looking for somebody that is passionate about retail and has a vision for how the right data and metrics can transform business results. You are a retail connoisseur who has a voracious appetite to organize and present information and insights on behalf of the entire DTC organization, from high level executives to buying coordinators. As new reporting needs evolve you aren’t just listening but driving the dialog because you know what your “customers” need. You are in their meetings, you understand their process, and you know their pain when it comes to pulling data together from a myriad of sources in Excel to calculate a simple inventory metric. And when you solve their pain you are their hero. But you don’t stop there: solving pain is just a starting point— you are driving the definition and implementation a broader vision of multichannel retail measurement and KPIs that ultimately helps elevate your partners from tactical to strategic business views. Part of the magic you bring to this role is your strong technical understanding: you know the gory details about how data should be organized in a framework and can sit with your technology partners and dive into which pipes are moving what piece of data whether its digital sales, inventory or consumer information. You also will manage a team of report writers who will bring the vision to life using Cognos and Tableau. You are passionate, creative, tenacious and motivated by your ability to make a big business impact on a multi-billion dollar retail organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Driving overall BI strategy and roadmap for the Nike’s Retail arm (Direct to Consumer), where individuals crave access to data. In addition to owned Inline and Factory stores, there are partner doors and of course nike.com. That’s a lot of data!
- Interfacing with business end users such as the North America Director of B&M Planning and Allocation or Global Director of Digital Marketing and drive business requirements for reporting and ad hoc analysis. You know what they need to see on a daily, weekly, monthly basis…help them get there.
- Data visualization matters at Nike. Understanding what tools are needed to transform data and insights into stories seamlessly.
- Helping to create and drive a culture of KPI standardization across both Brick & Mortar and Digital globally. How should In Stock Rates, Retention Rates or Conversion Rates be defined in an omnichannel world?

Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Marketing (an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree). MBA preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience with an emphasis on Retail or Digital Commerce retail intelligence and analytics required. Multichannel preferred.
- Ability to establish successful partnership with technology organization is critical
- You don’t need to be a master in all languages but knowing some of them sure helps. Exceptionally strong SQL is a must. SAS or Hadoop exposure is a significant plus.
- Extensive experience with BI tools and framework. Cognos framework and Tableau required.
- Affinity for working with large amounts of data required. Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations required
- Clear track record demonstrating a passion for Data and Retail is an absolute must!
