Global Facility Commodity Manager - Maxim Integrated - Beaverton
Job description
Maxim seeks a Commodity Manager to focus on strategic facility operation/service, utilities, supplier management and the development and execution of the commodity strategy. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of business experience, required technical knowledge, and strong interpersonal communication and relationship management skills.
Develop and align global commodity strategies for facility, service, utilities, facility and fab equipment installation, and Fab materials/equipment with internal customers and partners across sites that enable/achieve Maxim’s long term business objectives and goals.
Develop cost models and understanding cost drivers of commodities. Negotiate price with suppliers and strive to achieve
competitive sourcing through supplier selection or enable multiple qualified suppliers to deliver cost performance results that meet the corporate financial requirements/goals.
Being recognized expert for global market information; long term supply, demand, capacity, price, market segments, competition, short and long-term market trends, and environmental and/or regulatory implications.
Proactively identify potential risks for commodities and develop/execute strategies to mitigate the risks in commodities.
Manage escalated issues within commodities, lead the excursion task force, and work with production teams and suppliers to identify the root cause of issues and drive corrective actions and permanent solutions to resolve the issues.
Negotiate contracts with key suppliers in the commodity by levering supplier capabilities, business opportunities, and
competition.
Primary owner for supplier performance and relationship management. Organize and lead the Executive Review Meeting (ERM) and
Manager Review Meeting (MRM). Work with Strategic Facility, Service,
Utilities Suppliers and Contractors to integrate Maxim’s supplier performance requirements into all suppliers. Drive
improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
Coach junior team members (purchasing specialist and buyers, etc…); Develop business processes to enhance functional
excellence and productivity.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following education and
skills:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance or Supply Chain; Construction and engineering related degree preferred
MBA degree, MS in Operation Engineering, or Industrial Engineering is a plus.
5+ years’ experience in managing global office and production facilities, constructions, service, utilities, and
equipment.
5+ years supplier/commodity management; C.P.M. or C.P.S.M certification is a plus.
Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, bidding, quotation analysis, supplier selection).
Ability to successfully interact and positively influence at all levels within organizations and suppliers, included executive levels and can deliver the results with aggressive goals.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a highly matrix/complex environment and the ability to develop and implement
business processes and strategies.
Experience with purchasing, project bidding, scheduling, and construction and project management techniques.
Expertise in price/contract negotiation and building strong relationships internally and externally, and conflict resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Customers/results orientated and can do attitude.
