Director - Product Management - GetInsured - Palo Alto


Job description
Responsibilities:
Direct an agile team of product managers, overseeing 4-6 functional areas, towards producing great products in a timely manner. Our development paradigms are sprint related, so you will have an overall view of each sprint cycle, its key priorities, the trade-offs that are possible at any time.
Partner with Engineering and UX teams to drive product development and deliver against agreed plan and targets. You will bring experience with working with UX teams, understand when and how to guide your team to build wire-frames themselves versus working with the UX implementation team. You will bring experience in thinking through primary flows & edge-cases.
Problem solve, manage risks, and coordinate dependencies of product builds and deployments. Each story/feature/epic has a life-cycle from requirements, design, build and test – you will set the standard with your team to create a high performance environment, problem solve for unknowns, work with customers to ensure that trade-offs are properly coordinated. This is a job where you are in the “thick of it”.
Work with customer support, IT, production support and engineering teams to monitor performance, triage issues, assign fix priorities and timelines, and schedule product releases.
Drive product evolution based on business needs and on your understanding of the domain, solicit and balance input from large clients, build consensus, develop coherent road map, drive delivery teams to execute on product vision.
Insure cross-functional alignment and communication on product priorities, focus areas, and deliverables.
Establish performance metrics and track and report progress against objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer information systems and / or Master of Public Health
At least 5 years of experience in delivery of Public Service Health, Medicaid, Health Insurance Exchange, Integrated Eligibility, or other Government or Large Enterprise projects
Engineering background is a strong plus.
Other areas of expertise: Business Requirements Analysis, Business Process Modeling, Planning and Analysis, SDLC, Project Management
Working knowledge of Affordable Healthcare Act and HIX implementation issues
Familiarity with PPACA federal legislation and CCIIO/CMS guidance
Strong analytical, planning, organization and consulting skills
Other: Job will require ~20% travel
