The Chief Strategy Office (CSO) is responsible for driving Cisco’s long term growth strategy through an integrated approach to market entry, expansion and acceleration. This spans the full lifecycle of innovation, investment, acquisition, divestiture, joint ventures, and partnerships. Over the past several years, CSO has played an aggressive role in Cisco’s growth through more than 180 strategic acquisitions, partnerships and investments. The team is responsible for extracting maximum value from each transaction to enable new business models, expand technical capabilities and acquire new talent for Cisco.
Are you interested in consulting with senior leaders to solve complex business problems and to enable Cisco’s strategic business transactions? This position will lead a small high performing team chartered with designing, implementing, and evolving industry-leading methodologies to enable Cisco’s build, buy, partner and integrate growth strategy. This is a key role in which you will also function as the transaction expert to advise deal and business teams on how best to apply and customize the transaction methodologies to meet the unique needs of the business, and to enable new business models, strategies, and capabilities. Roles & Responsibilities
This is a highly visible and business impacting role that requires active thought leadership and a continuous improvement mindset. In this role you will:
* Partner with senior leadership to innovate and drive methodology best practices for an evolving deal landscape
* Manage a team of business architects
* Work collaboratively across the CSO organization and Cisco functions to develop and evolve the transaction methodologies for acquisition integration, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic alliances
* Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement
* Manage portfolio of improvement initiatives
* Introduce new capabilities for driving resource productivity and planning/execution effectiveness
* Lead a transformational program to develop business advisory and consulting skills for the organization
* Advise directly on deals to customize the approach or solve complex business challenges
* Champion change through the Process Forum and extended AI community- driving process changes, methodology development and adoption across the functions, and as the players change
Minimum Qualifications
* 15+ years of process design and optimization, or equivalent experience in roles of increasing complexity/scope
7+ years of leadership experience
* Strong business acumen and judgment
* Extensive experience leading improvement efforts across multiple organizational functions in a global, Fortune 500 company or similar matrixed organization
* Experience with driving transformational change
* Intuitive, conceptual, and process focused thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience with designing and implementing training and development programs
* Demonstrated success in establishing business relationships as business advisor or consultant
* Bachelor’s Degree- MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
