Business Development Director - EMD - Billerica
Job description
Reporting to the Vice President, EMD Millipore Divisional Business Development, this newly created position will be responsible for planning and leading divisional transactions in close collaborations with Group M&A and Business Units. This individual is to understand the market, translate business strategies into actionable external growth opportunities, develop strong business cases for all transactions, then implement integration plans once deals are closed. The scope of this position includes all facets of the business development and strategy for the EMD Millipore division. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with an opportunity to shape the future direction of the Division.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the commercial evaluation of inorganic opportunities that support the strategic objectives of EMD Millipore division
Prepare and deliver the business case to the EMD Millipore and Corporate executive members
Monitor and report markets and competition
Plan, coordinate and lead divisional input for transactions involving equity or assets
Utilize market/business understanding and market intelligence via networks of internal and external resources to identify, evaluate and secure options for growth, consistent with strategic objectives
Build and maintain market models for all businesses/segments of relevance
In partnership with Business Units, define external growth options through pro-actively scouting, evaluating and accessing products and businesses
Build a strong, collaborative and open relationship with Business Units and
Group M&A
Design, build and implement standardized post-acquisition integration model
Lead and manage divisional initiatives
Support divisional strategic plans

Qualifications:
BA required. MBA preferred.
+10 years in health care industry, preferably a solid understanding of the commercial diagnostic and life science landscape
Proven track record of leading equity transactions
Business Development, Consulting or Investment banking experience with a focus on healthcare.
Demonstrated analytical and financial skills
Proven ability to work and communicate across a global organization
Proficient in English and German (ideal)
Up to 25% travel required
