Senior Director Intellectual Property NVIDIA Santa Clara

Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, and working closely with the Head of Intellectual Property and the General Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for the management and analysis of NVIDIA�s patent related intellectual property litigation and licensing engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development and analysis of NVIDIA�s patent portfolio.
- Development and implementation of strategies for the effective use of NVIDIA�s intellectual property in litigation and licensing contexts.


- Development and coordination of a variety of projects leading to the generation of IP.
- Assist the negotiation and/or directly negotiate licensing agreements and develop internal positions on licensing issues within NVIDIA�s field of interest.
- Direct litigation as necessary to assert, or defend, IP.
- Develop company policies for the development and protection of IP.
- Provide advice and counsel to the legal function and to all levels of management relative to patent related matters, including changes and developments in patent laws.
- Represent NVIDIA in professional organizations and other such venues relative to patents, IP litigation and licensing.
- Value and assess patent portfolios in the course of M&A and/or purchases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- EE/CS degree preferred, technical undergraduate degree required.
- J.D. degree required.
- A license to practice law in California required.
- A license to practice before the US PTO required.
- Must have minimum 12 -15 years experience with primary emphasis in litigation, licensing and portfolio development and management, preferably through a combination of major law firm and in-house experience.
- Experience in a fast paced, high growth technology company preferred.
- Requires an ability to undertake and follow through on initiatives, highly effective verbal and written communications skills, including strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
- Experience in the semiconductor and/or other high tech industries and familiarity with programming a plus.
