Director - Product Management - Mobile Commerce - Shazam Entertainment - San Francisco
Job description
We are looking for a Director of Product Management to define strategies for improving our platform to increase usage or revenue for Shazam, generating revenue from end-users, and focusing on data we gather to drive revenue streams directly with partners or advertisers. You will collaborate with a team made up of PMs from advertising, data & analytics, and content management, partnering closely with engineering teams to lead all parts of the product lifecycle, from concept to definition to delivery and launch.
This role will be based in Menlo Park, CA and reports to the VP of Product, Music and Platforms.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
The following are the key responsibilities and deliverables expected of the successful candidate.
Work with our Business Development, Sales and Engineering teams to improve our mobile platform to increase usage or revenue opportunities for Shazam and its partners.
Build/manage a team to develop and deliver a Shazam product that delivers on this strategy.
Work with current and potential partners on deals which achieve their goals and align with our strategy.
Deliver product changes that achieve the company’s revenue and user acquisition targets.

Qualifications & Experience
This job requires the following qualifications and experience.
Minimum of 8-10 years experience in similar areas and roles, a majority of which should be in the consumer-facing Internet industry, electronics, digital, and/or mobile offerings.
Demonstrated experience delivering consumer technology products and scaling businesses both in terms of revenue and user acquisition.
Must be smart, a strategic thinker, full of good ideas, high energy, creative, persistent, agile and driven.
Must have experience and be a proven contributor in a small to medium size company with a fast-pace. Comfortable delivering within an environment with some ambiguityt.
Must be an outgoing, social executive comfortable and experienced in networking with others professionally.
Comfortable with being an individual contributor as well as a team leader. Yet, able to effectively manage cross-functional teams to achieve deliverables. Like any successful contributor in a start-up, the ability to be a “great athlete” and take on different roles and projects as needed by the company over time.
Project management experience, especially coordinating/managing multiple projects at the same time. Candidate should have the capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and translate them into plans and implementations for success.
BA/BS/MS degree, with background/experience in Product, Marketing, Business Operations, and related areas.
Understanding of prominent web, mobile and social platforms as well as competitive digital music, mobile apps and TV landscape.
The ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner, in both written documents and presentations and verbally, including strong experience presenting and collaborating with cross-functional teams, with executive management, and with partners and other external parties in a professional and polished manner.
Detail focused and analytical with the ability to make clear recommendations and decisions.
Ability to work independently and perform parallel tasks with collaborative and consultative skills working with others across the company.
Skill in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and prioritizing work effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
