Blueport Commerce believes in talent, not titles. We are seeking a Director of Marketing for our team. The Director of Marketing will have a demonstrated track record in the online retail discipline driving customer acquisition, conversion, and retention. The right candidate will bring a balance of strategic thinking, revenue generation, customer engagement, operational execution, analytics, and team building. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who has the marketing chops as well as the personal characteristics suited for a start-up environment in the last big retail vertical to embrace e-commerce.

Key Responsibilities
Champion the online channel for big-ticket furniture retail
Create a Digital Marketing Agency within our Services model
Drive Marketing business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and measurements
Build programs and campaigns which acquire, convert, and retain online consumers
Create visibility and transparency for ongoing operation, decisions, and performance
Drive test/learn activities along with attribution model to optimize spend and results
Build organization to capture, scale, and optimize opportunity ahead for rapid growth
Work closely with Executives and other functional department heads as an active and vocal member of the organization’s Leadership Team
Synthesize sales data, retail partner feedback, competitive intelligence, consumer insights, furniture market data, and e-commerce industry trends to fuel growth, evolution, and innovation in all of our marketing activities

Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years related experience in a B2C retail company or Digital Agency
5+ years of experience leading a Marketing function
Deep knowledge of the purchase path for an online consumer
Expertise across digital acquisition, conversion, and retention programs
Expertise in e-commerce and internet retailing pricing and promotions
Experience hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of direct reports
Experience in defining metrics and creating performance driven culture
Experience in planning, prioritizing, problem solving, and decision making
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment strongly preferred
Experience in the big-ticket furniture market (or similar considered purchase products) preferred
This position is full-time and necessitates working from our Boston office in the South End.
