Job description
JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Curriculum Projects will plan and direct the production of new curricular readings and the revision of existing CFA Institute produced curricular readings for CFA Program, CIPM, and other educational programs. Planning includes specification of the role of readings in program curricula, development and/or revision of outlines and appropriate learning outcome statements for readings, and planning work flow and authors’ roles. Directing includes recruitment of, and communication with, authors and reviewers, managing the flow of reviews and revisions according to schedule, critically assessing products as they develop with respect to CFA Institute needs and standards, and exercising an editorial role as appropriate to ensure that readings meet those needs and standards. The position will be headquartered in Americas(Charlottesville or New York) and will report to Head, CFA Curriculum Development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan and manage the development of assigned new CFA Institute curriculum readings;
Plan and manage the revision of assigned CFA Institute produced curriculum readings;
Provide senior editorial and quality control for assigned curriculum projects;
Collaborate on intradepartmental and interdepartmental curriculum-related and/or lifelong learning related projects;
Develop and sustain investment industry contacts;
Recruit highly qualified collaborators for curriculum development projects;
Closely collaborate with the Head of Education in EMEA to support regional education efforts such as CFA program, CIPM program and University Partner presentations
Interact with Exam Development and the EMEA COE team
Support the Practice Analysis activities in EMEA and build awareness of current bodies of knowledge
Desired Skills and Experience
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
CFA charter
Master’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in investments; PhD highly desirable
Record of professional accomplishments in investment management or closely related fields
In-depth knowledge of investments and the investment management process, an understanding of broad investment industry issues, and an appreciation of practitioner interests and concerns
Excellent writing and editorial skills with a proven ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion
A superior command of subjects in the CFA Institute Candidate Body of Knowledge
The ability to successfully manage and coordinate projects and direct the work of senior investment professionals
Must be self motivated and disciplined with the ability to meet deadlines in a high-stakes environment
Some travel required
Professional publications experience desirable
Teaching and/or professional training/presentation experience desirable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must travel comfortably.
Energy to put in the hours of concentrated work necessary to achieve goals while maintaining a positive attitude.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Some global travel will be required
