Overview
BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) is in the market for Real Estate Counsel that will be responsible for Legal matters related to Real Estate equity and debt operations, including new funds, in the Americas. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
Legal services related to the structuring, formation, documentation and offering of all real estate funds, separate accounts and other mandates sponsored or organized by BlackRock Real Estate in the Americas
Legal services and legal advice to support BlackRock Real Estate management and operations with regard to funds, separate accounts and mandates in Americas, including formation of joint ventures, acquisitions, development advisory services, asset management, leasing, financings and dispositions
Legal services required for litigation and dispute resolution related to Americas real estate operations, in conjunction with BlackRock L&C Litigation team
Assistance with compliance matters affecting the Real Estate business in the Americas, in conjunction with BlackRock Compliance
Involvement in portfolio compliance for Real Estate in the Americas
Subject to compliance with BlackRock L&C policy, selection and approval of outside counsel to assist with the foregoing and review and approval all legal bills for such services
As an additional responsibility, assistance to BlackRock Corporate Facilities in retaining outside counsel to assist with leases of facilities in Americas
Qualified Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 4 years qualified as an attorney, with some experience in legal matters relating to direct real estate and/or institutional private funds preferred
