What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Partnerships this role will lead the company’s business partnership efforts in the US and Canada. This covers:
Distributing our highly-regarded branded content to select partners both online and offline
Closing review collection partnerships with key travel partners
Raising our profile with the tourism and media trade in North America
Creating business partnerships that meet company goals
Work with the Senior Director, Partnerships, to articulate our partnerships strategy in North America to meet agreed goals and success measures. S/he will develop the plan, structure and resources to meet agreed targets across the brand distribution, content collection and revenue share areas.
Manage and motivate a team of professionals to develop and grow business relationships.
Identify and prioritize potential segments for partnerships in North America, both online and offline. Identify contacts, oversee negotiations and finalize partnership structures.
Create and execute initiatives which achieve the distribution of TripAdvisor brand and content with the objective of ensuring that whenever businesses think travel reviews, they think TripAdvisor – and ultimately whenever consumers think travel, they think TripAdvisor.
Work with product, marketing and engineering teams to implement business roadmap, including contributing to specifications, reviewing design plans, developing timelines and monitoring success.
Coordinate with other sales teams at TripAdvisor to best leverage business relationships across the company.
Measure performance of the agreements and identify levers of improvement – design and analyze relevant reports, lead test/control design and execution, evaluate both commercial and technical performance, and identify further enhancements.
Work with the Brand Marketing team to develop appropriate branding messages through partners and with the Trade Marketing team to support trade marketing efforts targeted to individual properties.
Support other partnership efforts across the company, such as Vacation Rental partnerships and Mobile partnerships.
Desired Skills & Experience
What We Seek:
At least 7-10 years experience in business development/strategic alliances at a leading online or media company, experience in the travel sector a plus
Strong entrepreneurial instinct with a focus on end results
Ability to maintain strategic vision and define/defend TripAdvisor’s value proposition
Demonstrated ability to think creatively – particularly about consumer needs and partner opportunities and potential solutions
Must have previous team management experience
Demonstrated ability to influence multiple stakeholders at different levels both internally and externally
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach and demonstrated ability to multi-task
Strong organization and analytic skills absolutely required
