Director, Advertising Sales Paraview Entertainment - McLean


Job Description

Rare and unique opportunity to become a senior member of a growing team of seasoned professionals currently seeking financing for the launch of a multi-platform media company headquartered in the Washington DC Metro area. Paraview Entertainment is targeting a late 2011 Video-On-Demand TV network premier (Paraview TV) and will attract viewers focused on the body, mind and spirit. A fully integrated website and numerous brand extensions/distribution platforms are included in the current business plan. The Director of Advertising Sales will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's TV and viral ad efforts. The Director will also play a key role in securing network financing along with other members of the senior team including the Founder and Chairman and heads of programming/production, business operations, finance, marketing and digital media strategy. Major responsibilities include:

-Creating and spearheading all ad sales initiatives/campaigns that are consistent with the company's overall goals, strategies and expansion plans.
- Prospecting, identifying opportunities, building new business relations and generating revenue.
- Focussing on growing existing accounts and acquiring new clients; placing outbound sales calls (including cold calls), conducting face-to-face meetings and making sales presentations.
- Establishing strategic ad partnerships, development and management.
- Working in direct conjunction with Programming, Marketing and Digital Media Strategy in order to set and achieve short- and long-term revenue goals.
-Managing complex contract negotiations, as required.
-Analyzing and reporting on ad sales trends, viewership habits and emerging platform opportunities.
-Serving as company's main point-person at all Up-Front ad presentations and associated events.

PLEASE NOTE: This opportunity is targeted solely to those who are passionate about being involved with a "start-up" and/or passionate about the body/mind/spirit genre. This position is commission-based only. Once corporate funding is secured, the potenital for an additional base salary and stock options exists.

Desired Skills & Experience

Preferred qualifications include:

-Proven ad sales track record; strong marketing experience a plus.
-Established client list preferred.
-Excellent presentation skills mandatory
-Strong verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills
-Television background highly desired
-Acute knowledge of existing and emerging media technologies
-Experience in establishing partnerships in a start-up or early stage environment
-Up-to-date knowledge of current computer applications
-Must have the legal right to work in the United States
