Job Summary:
Manage North America / China / European accounting operations, Treasury, and potentially Tax. Prepare country and consolidated monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules. Ensure GAAP compliance and consistency with Sonos accounting practices including proper revenue recognition for various revenue streams. Manage the relationship with the Company’s external auditors (currently PWC) to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Regularly interacts with all other functions at the executive level to initiate new programs and influence on matters of critical importance, including policymaking.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the CFO, provide strategic and operational management for accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and financial statements
- Must be capable and willing to lead a $100+m revenue consumer electronics company to over $1B in revenue, and provide leadership to the Finance team through liquidity events including investment rounds and/or acquisition/IPO
- Work closely with the CFO, Executive Management, and communicate with investors
- Lead on hedging programs and cash management
- Partner with senior leaders to solve business and finance issues, such as revenue recognition, timing of our fiscal year, and planning cadence for the company, etc.
- Evaluate operational procedures and optimize processes to comply with auditing standards and improve efficiency
- Lead the company’s accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue, worldwide
- Practice continuous process improvement to increase transparency, efficiency and level of customer service
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (in Accounting is preferred; CPA is a plus)
- Smart, hungry, passionate about Sonos
- Need 10-12+ years’ related experience in public accounting, SEC reporting and multi-national accounting consolidations in accordance with US GAAP
- International experience is required
- SAP or Oracle systems (or equivalent ERP systems) experience is a plus
- Documentation of processes related to Sarbanes-Oxley Act a plus
- Precision/detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- 10+ years of management experience strongly preferred, with a focus on cross-functional success
- Must have strong internal controls background
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines
