Business Solution Sales Professional - Media & Entertainment IBM Global Services - New York (Greater New York City Area)


Job Description

The Media & Entertainment (M&E) Business Solution Professional (BSP) will be responsible for qualifying and assisting with the closing of business solution consulting sales opportunities across the M&E industry in the United States. This professional must have broad experience in and knowledge of issues facing M&E companies, such as Digital Supply Chain, ERP-enabled Transformation, and Business Analytics across key segments, including: Filmed Entertainment, Broadcasting, Cable and Satellite Distribution, Publishing and Online Portals. In addition to broad knowledge and expertise in M&E, the candidate must have deep subject matter expertise in one or more of the operational areas listed above.

More specifically, the preferred candidate must have demonstrated in previous roles: strong leadership skills, an ability to operate in positions requiring significant self direction and motivation and a proven track record in consultative selling solutions to senior business and IT leaders and executives in the M&E industry. The preferred candidate must also be able to manage multiple priorities and be capable of developing strong relationships at assigned accounts and must be able to:

Articulate client business value with consultative selling approaches
Understand the delivery implications of consulting opportunities and sell solutions that IBM can deliver
Assist with developing proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs) and oral presentations. The BSP may be required to present or assist in all or part of these meetings
Work in a highly ambiguous, dynamic environment with a proven ability to balance competing demands and priorities as well as operate independently while building a successful sales pipeline/channel
Team with IBM colleagues and vendors to develop creative solutions
Develop strong relationships with client-facing IBM teams and understand the IBM organizational structure
Promote cross brand solutions to promote the overall IBM portfolio requiring an understanding of IBM offerings, including hardware and software
Understand key partner and competitor offerings which overlap the IBM solution space


This position requires travel up to 100% and locations are NYC metro area and LA metro area.
Desired Skills & Experience

Required
High School Diploma/GED
At least 5 years experience in Media and Entertainment Industry
At least 3 years experience in consultative selling
At least 3 years experience in collaborating in development of complex deals
At least 2 years experience in selling / closing deals in a high pressure environment
At least 3 years experience in creating winning business cases and proposals
At least 3 years experience in effectively speaking and writing at an executive level
Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
English: Fluent
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
At least 3 years experience in professional services consulting at a national or global management consulting firm
At least 5 years experience in consultative selling
At least 5 years experience in collaborating in development of complex deals
At least 5 years experience in selling / closing deals in a high pressure environment
At least 5 years experience in creating winning business cases and proposals
At least 5 years experience in effectively speaking and writing at an executive level
