We have experience working with an expansive and diverse client-base, which comprises all types of businesses--multinationals, local companies, privately-owned organizations, entrepreneurs, family businesses, trusts, partnerships, and private individuals.Not Applicable to PracticeAs a member of the Exempt Organizations Tax Services (EOTS) team, you will serve a wide range of tax-exempt organizations—including colleges and universities, health care entities, foundations, supporting organizations, social welfare organizations, membership organizations, pension funds, museums and other cultural entities, religious organizations, donor-advised funds, and nonprofits based outside the US—as well as corporate and individual donors to charities. Headquartered in Washington, DC with professionals across the country, our team includes individuals with many years of experience at the IRS, Treasury, Joint Committee on Taxation, and on the boards of nonprofit organizations. Team members possess broad knowledge of the laws applicable to tax-exempt organizations and the legislative intent underlying these rules. . The group assists charities in achieving measurable results, which may include advising on obtaining and preserving tax-exempt status; identifying planning opportunities resulting from legislation, regulations, and rulings; structuring revenue-generating activities; advising on executive compensation and employee benefits planning; and complying with income, excise, and employment tax requirements. The team works with clients to understand their needs and help them to navigate the complex and ever-changing tax rules so that they can remain focused on their charitable mission.Knowledge Preferred:Thorough knowledge of Exempt Organization tax issues, tax compliance and consulting, including not-for-profit (and related for-profit) healthcare, higher education, international clients, private foundations, public charities, for-profit corporate, partnerships and individual issues. Skills Preferred:Comprehensive technical skills, including tax compliance and consulting for not-for-profit organizations and a variety of Forms including 990, 990 PF, 1120, 1065 and 1040. Considerable experience identifying and addressing client needs: building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicating value propositions; managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials.Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:5Minimum Degree(s) and Certification(s) Required:Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting required. Master of Science in Taxation, Juris Doctor with Accounting / Tax, or Master of Law in Taxation preferred.Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar required.
