We are looking for a Director, Talent Acquisition, who will design and implement a talent acquisition strategy that emphasizes the candidate experience, strengthens the recruiting model and programs, optimizes our brand in the increasingly competitive market, and leads a team to deliver on university-wide strategic initiatives.
In this hands-on leadership role, your responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute brand acquisition strategies in partnership with Stanford’s 7 schools and various units.
• Create effective pipeline and sourcing strategies through referrals, social sourcing, internal talent movement, partnerships with critical associations, etc., that will generate qualified and diverse talent.
• Lead the development and design of a consistent staffing approach that enhances the candidate experience.
• Guide strategic initiatives focused on critical, hard-to-fill and high-volume positions.
• Provide ongoing education and training to enable hiring managers and teams to attract and hire top talent.
• Seek out and leverage industry, competitor, and other business trends to influence strategies, technologies and team skills.
• Optimize acquisition processes through technology solutions.
• Develop, track and analyze talent acquisition metrics to inform decisions and ongoing process improvements.
• Partner with the university’s Diversity office in support of diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Lead a team of highly productive Talent Acquisition Specialists and other staffing roles with a focus on high performance, collaboration and innovation.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role building and leading high performing recruiting teams.
• Minimum 7 years of full-cycle recruitment experience and experience managing a variety of recruiting programs.
• Master’s degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and determining priorities based on what is most important to the university’s success.
• Success in driving and achieving results by setting goals, using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals, and tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals.
• Experience in influencing and gaining commitment from key stakeholders to the actions that will advance their goals and university’s initiatives; ensure stakeholders understand the hiring process and execute it with excellence.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and leverage those insights into critical decisions.
• Proven you are self-motivated, action-oriented and able to work independently. You can run with little direction and make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
• Built capabilities of the talent acquisition team to realize their full potential.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Highly-developed interviewing skills.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.
• In-depth experience with web-based systems and recruiting sources, including the internet, social media, warm/cold calling, referrals, events, networking, publications, industry groups/associations, and job fairs.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently sit, use a telephone.
• Occasionally stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
• Rarely writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Occasional travel.
