Director - Product Management - AVG Technologies - San Francisco
Job description
This role will oversee the ‘day to day’ planning and execution of the all products delivered from the SF office. A key member of the leadership team driving programs and products to support the overall customer, corporate, and team goals.
Responsibilities will include helping to refine the product vision and roadmap for the core search and marketplace products and experiences. You will work with world-class engineers and cross-functional teams that partner with you to execute on the product vision. You will drive creative product ideas and monetization strategies, mapping those concepts back to customer needs and benefits, detailed use cases, and executing in an iterative, rapid environment. You are a leader who will be empowered to transform solid concepts into great products that both monetize and drive customer value.
We are seeking a data driven execution artist who has a strong track record of successful online consumer and b-to-b product launches, deep experience with ad platforms, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving innovation and solving customer needs with engaging experiences and differentiated products.
Responsibilities:
Collaboration:
Work with marketing, sales, UX, engineering, legal, PR, Compliance, project management, Governance, and PR to ensure that product strategies are executed and released to market effectively.
Communication:
Provide training, sales materials, and webinars to educate AVG customers and internal teams on products, and services.
Communicate priorities, a 6-12 month ‘look-ahead‘ and general roadmap to the organization.
Execution:
Coordinate rapid, smooth, and successful product launches in close collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, UX/Design, Quality Assurance, and other teams.
Create product design specs as an input for engineering
Leadership:
Provide leadership to a team of at least 2-3 direct reports, ensuring their professional development, execution, and delivery effectiveness.
Strategy:
Identify products and market opportunities to address core LTV improvement, revenue, and portfolio diversification goals.
Constantly monitor the competition and provide reports to management including significant contribution to the strategic decisions and directions for this business unit.
Planning:
Rigorous analysis of data to support short and long term program and resource prioritization
Develop a detailed set of operational use cases for each product & feature requirement mapped to corporate goals and objectives.
Work with the UX team to ensure that use-cases are understood and sufficient to create storyboards and wireframes for the required user interface changes.
Work with QA team to understand defects in the product and to prioritize their remediation
Desired Skills and Experience
Job Requirements:
8+ years of experience with successful online consumer or ‘b to b’ product launches in agile environments
Passionate advocate for great product and user experiences that delight consumers
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes
Prior experience with managing entire product development lifecycle from conception to launch and iteration
Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills with data-driven approach to decision-making
Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques for heavily-trafficked consumer websites
Technical understanding of databases, web technologies, Windows applications and browser addons/extensions.
Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Confidence to interact with team members across all departments and levels of the organization
BA/BS degree required. MBA or equivalent graduate degree a plus.
