The Strategy and Insights function at Gap Inc. is a critical part of defining our path forward. Through rigorous analyses, focus on our customers, creative thinking, and deep partnership with the business, we develop the strategic directions for our company. We are responsible for the definition and evolution of our overall corporate strategy, for identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities where we can create structural advantage, and for driving product- and customer-centric initiatives across our stores and digital channels.
The Strategy and Insights team reports to the Chief Customer Officer / EVP of Strategy, and provides strategic support to our CEO and Leadership Team. We partner with the C-level and Brand Presidents, as well as other business leaders across the company. Strategy and Consumer Insights often serves as a “talent pipeline” for a diverse and exciting set of career opportunities across the Gap Inc. portfolio of brands for the best and brightest talent.
As Director of the Corporate Strategy Pricing Team, you will be charged with developing and influencing the implementation of pricing strategies across Gap, Inc. brands and product portfolios (stores and online channels). In partnership with your team members and cross-functional business partners, you will use competitive benchmarking, financial analyses, and consumer research to build pricing architectures and create tactical roadmaps for execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Pricing Strategy initiatives across Gap, Inc. brands and product portfolios. Leading high-performing team to:
Structure pricing strategy approach and implement best practices across Gap Inc. brands
Research and analyze pricing architecture and competitive patterning
Implement consumer surveys and analyze results
Perform and synthesize quantitative analyses
Collaborate with business partners across the portfolio to develop business hypotheses, inform and influence seasonal pricing strategies
Synthesize findings, develop presentations, manage the cadence of regular reporting, and help communicate informed recommendations and action items to business partners and leadership teams
Serve as a thought partner and liaison with business partners outside of Strategy and Insight at all levels, proactively identifying and communicating business issues and sharing best practices across brands
Manage the Corporate pricing team, influence Business Partners, serve as a mentor/leader to Corporate and Brand pricing team in support of work planning, hypotheses generation, issue identification, analytical framework development, and career development/growth
Orchestrate program management for pricing initiatives across our channels and brands
QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of professional work experience with experience in pricing strategy, retail and strategic management consulting, and/or consumer insights
Demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem-solver and strategic thinker
Experience working with quantitative data and analyzing results
Demonstrated hypothesis-driven problem solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured analyses and recommendations from disparate sources of information
Very strong written and oral communicator with proven ability to connect with business partners and senior executives
Able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments independently
Solid presence and influencing skills to foster key cross-functional partnerships and strategic pricing plans
Strong ability and willingness to collaborate effectively; works well with others and is considered a true team player
Able to effectively manage multiple projects under tight time pressures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA with 4+ years’ experience at a leading strategy consulting firm, top-tier financial services or technology company; or BA/BS with emphasis on quantitative skills in economics, industrial engineering, or mathematics
Experience in pricing strategy, consumer research, or retail inventory management preferred
Excellent mathematical and statistical aptitude with experience in a non-academic environment
Strong interest in and knowledge of the retail industry, preferably with some experience in apparel
Strong business acumen related to consumer-facing businesses and ability to assess impact of decisions on overall business performance
Excellent interpersonal and people leadership skills; strong executive presence
Able to influence using broad range of styles to drive desired result, especially with cross-functional business partners who are not direct line reports
Able to identify barriers to successful implementation and capable of working with teams / leaders to mitigate barriers
