The Director Business Management will be based in Milpitas, CA and report directly to the VP, Innovation & Technology Integration (ITI). The Director, Business Management will partner with the Innovation & Technology Integration (ITI) Team and Flex cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate both business/operational and financial deliverables. As a key member of the team, this role will lead and execute on key project initiatives as directed by the ITI VP, while working directly with key members of the team to develop processes and procedures required to align with forward looking goals.
The director will also support strategy development initiatives including local SVIC quick turn services that leverage the Milpitas campus and local 3rd party companies, providing a revenue stream and technology transfer mechanism/method to the larger Flex manufacturing footprint.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
Manage the deliverables/milestones with team leads including Salesforce, Planview, and BPC Etc.
Deliver success to Flex Corporate Goals as related to the ITI organization.
With the ITI team, develop and manage consolidated budgets, as well as individual project budgets, ensuring team is on target or communicating possible risk. This requires close collaboration and guidance with Flex Finance to ensure the accuracy of the ITI data is aligned with Flex Finance analysis.
Collaborating with Finance to provide financial modeling including monthly executive packages which would provide insight into Innovation & Technology progress and contribution
Identifying and managing risks within projects. Collaborate with department heads, project leads, etc. to align goals and develop business plans.
Manage Capex requirements within the ITI organization. Working with Asset Management team and Finance to develop a strategy of a Lease vs Purchase process, tracking and capturing utilization vs cost metrics. The candidate must develop with these teams and the CapEX requestor, the ROI tradeoff model.
Serve as leader of the management team that sets the ITI’s strategic direction.
Provide financial and business systems guidance to the ITI team specific to the ITI business. This requires close collaboration with Flex finances and DEI operations team
Support the development of long-term objectives, standards, and performance metrics for the ITI organization. Assure that the ITI org achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time constraints.
Ensure implementation and refinement of formal processes to support the Sketch to Scale ® and Integration process.
Drive financial rigor and discipline with the guidance of the Flex Controller across all ITI functional areas
Drive business/financial strategy with the guidance of the Flex Controller to meet future business & customer needs, participate in strategy development with account & customer executives
Establish and foster a strong partnership model with key stakeholders
Partner with operations leaders to ensure the development activities are well integrated with manufacturing (Sketch to Scale)
Be part of the ITI and DE&I strategic planning effort and as ambassador to the greater Flex ecosystem
Delivery of customer projects within schedule, budget, and quality constraints.
Support safe working conditions and positive corporate stewardship for sustainability of our local and global environments.
Tracking and reporting of KPIs that roll up to VP and CFO on corporate level.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
Typically requires 15+ years of financial and/or business operations experience in technology development and/or manufacturing.
Experience in business systems that combine finance, sales and technology/product development.
A proven track record of participating in multiple areas of manufacturing and innovation
Strong financial and business background and experience in innovation/ production environment.
Experience to manage budgets, capex, and revenue pipeline in innovation areas that includes of these industries: communications, wearables, energy, consumer products, cloud computing, connected livings and high volume connected products.
Excellent team player; ability to lead change; ability to collaborate across boundaries, disciplines, cultures, and levels within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to enable a multi-functional engineering team (electrical, mechanical, software, firmware development, and product validation teams) with business systems that provide a consistent synergistic alignment.
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
Requires excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and networking abilities.
Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence for positive outcomes. Ability to influence and hold others accountable.
Business acumen and proven ability to manage key financial results. Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving to continuously improve value.
Ability to make tough decisions, take risks and be accountable for actions. Decisions will affect the org’s performance and strategic direction.
High proficiency in English both written and oral
Highly motivated and willing to frequently travel on business trips
