Director Treasury Western Digital Milpitas

Western Digital Corporation (WDC) is seeking a senior level treasury professional to help lead a highly productive Treasury team. The position is based at WDC’s Milpitas office in Milpitas, CA and requires a strong manager/mentor, highly motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong analytical and excellent communication skills to manage and grow these functions and develop the staff, and liaise with cross-functional teams in managing day-to-day responsibilities. This position will manage the Company’s worldwide foreign exchange exposure and hedging program (in excess of US$4 billion), and will manage all funding and related lease financings of the Company’s joint venture operations with Toshiba/TMC. The director will also assist the Treasurer to manage and support the Company’s capital markets transactions.
The director will manage and maintain on-going banking and credit relationships to support all FX transactions, will review, analyze and recommend hedging structure/transactions, as well as to chair the monthly FX Committee meetings involving the CFO, Treasurer and various VPs of Finance. Liaise, review and coordinate with Accounting and SEC Reporting on hedge accounting and documentation. Liaise with Legal and operations finance teams to perform business and legal review of banking and other financial counter-party agreements. Manage and liaise with Financial Planning and Analysis and SEC reporting on all internal reporting and forecast of Foreign Exchange variance, Other Income and Expense as well as earnings release and board meeting materials.

The director will coordinate with Assistant Treasurer to optimize working capital, funding and liquidity management around the world, in particular the worldwide legacy SanDisk entities. Review and coordinate with Tax Department to optimize these operating units’ as well as the JV’s capital structures, and coordinate appropriate inter-company funding strategies for these entities.

Perform strategic level evaluations of global treasury functions to insure continuous process improvements. Guide and prioritize treasury projects as needed to support corporate goals. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
MBA Preferred
12 – 15 years treasury related experience, specifically foreign exchange exposure management
CTP and/or Cert ICM certification preferred
