Role Summary:
Responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Thought leadership and development of structure for building an organization for BTG/TG Project including in depth analysis of the existing skills in the organization, conduct gap analysis, determine the actions to enhance existing skills and hire new skills wherever required
focus being on best use and further development of existing internal resources• Build and drive potential vendors/ partners along with supply chain and other functions such as C&C to work with us for the Integrated projects, detailed analysis of the capabilities of such vendors including gap analysis and to prepare necessary action plan with such vendors for necessary skill enhancement from the vendors – set up a network of “privileged subcontractors” for specific BOP packages delivered on turnkey basis. Selection and qualification, discussion of typical T&C’s, target prices, typical operating model during tendering and execution.• Drive the optimized execution schedule to enhance the Integrated project offering – define and drive lead time reduction exercises to prepare for future 40 / 36 months execution schedules. Include in planning all actions for cash optimization and project / factories inventory reduction• Benchmark our Integrated projects offering with market conditions and take necessary improvement actions – coordinate and follow up detailed cost out plans across SPS India activities. Benchmark positioning of competition based on public available dataand information• Work closely with the Tendering leader to prepare bids and contribute to optimization of the Tender• Work closely with Tender leader on transversal collaboration Globally and Locally with all SPS product lines/entities to align the targets and working on costs with all product lines. • Work closely with Tender leader to identify all Risks and Opportunities in the bids and to prepare the required mitigation plan for the same• Work closely with Sales Team on Promotion actions with customers projecting value of our integrated offering. BTG • Special action with Energy Connection for integration of E-Bop• Coordinate all actions with Project Finance to limit impact of difficult Terms Of Payments through proper finance optimization. For customers needing financing, drive preparation of financing proposal
Qualifications/Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is essential• Management qualification will be an added advantage • More than 20+ years’ experience including experience of managing organizational units and projects• Should have executed a BTG/Turbine Island job preferably with NTPC Project in India
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience of working with large and complex projects. Reasonable amount of technical knowledge in a project oriented business is desirable• Ability to successfully manage in a matrix organization. o Good verbal and written communication skillso Good leadership capabilityo Systematic and analytical approach to problems with focus on final target objectiveo Good analytical & interpersonal skills
