Business Development Director Thales Hong Kong

The Business Development Director will be responsible for leading the identification, pursuit and winning of new business opportunities for the company in Hong Kong and contributing to the development of the company’s longer-term growth and development strategy. Specific duties:
Developing a strong and insightful understanding of the market addressed (Hong Kong, China primarily) and identifying key market trends

· Undertaking intelligence gathering on customers, targeted opportunities and competitors.

· Developing and implementing business development strategies and plans, that are aligned to the company’s strategy, and that will achieve short, medium and long-term profitable growth targets

· Building the pipeline of good business opportunities to secure business growth and ensuring that all potential opportunities are administrated and followed-up with concrete actions

· Ensuring that the business is competitively positioned to win

· Developing and implementing capture plans and leading the bid teams to secure selected opportunities

· Evaluating business opportunities and progressing these through internal approval processes.

· Managing relationship building with key customers (influencers, decision makers).

· Supporting preparation of regular reports and pipeline analysis.

· Ensuring all business development activities comply with relevant Company’s Policies, legal demands and ethical standards.



Requirements

· Bachelors degree in relevant discipline with post graduate qualification preferred

· Proven track record in identifying and winning contracts in Hong Kong.

· Strong commercial and business acumen.

· Excellent sales and negotiation skills

· Ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships with all key business unit stakeholders, both internally and externally

· Creative leadership skills in forming new business models and strategies

· Significant influencing skills to obtain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders and customers

· Extensive relevant contacts and credibility in the Hong Kong Urban Transportation industry

· Sound understanding of strategy and commercial positioning

· Ability to seek and understand customer requirements

· Intellectual capacity and emotional intelligence consistent with the demands of senior sales positions

· Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
