Director Competitive Intelligence Cisco San Jose

The Enterprise Networking Business (ENB) Team is looking for a Director of Technical Competitive Intelligence to lead a team of subject matter expert leaders and technical marketing engineers. ENB is responsible for Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security, and Core Software at Cisco; the largest revenue contributor for the company. The main stakeholders will be the Product Management team, Product Engineering, and Sales. You will work in collaboration with other functions such as Marketing, Sales Enablement, Finance, and other Competitive Intelligence groups.
The Director of Competitive Intelligence will lead a worldwide distributed group of Senior Technical Leads and Technical Marketing Engineers that focus on the competition. You will serve as the interface of the group to stakeholders. In this role, you will work to unwind and analyze highly complex problems of competitive nature, gain insight into the opportunities inherent in those problems, recommend a path forward, and drive execution. Projects can include: competitive portfolio assessment, competitive technical sales enablement activities, competitive testing leadership, and amplification of findings and recommendations.

What You'll Do
You will develop deep knowledge of the competition for ENB.

Key Responsibilities:
•Maintain a strong point of view on competitive strategy to meet customer needs supported by data and analytics
•Identify, analyze competitive moves of tier 1 and tier 2 vendors, and run an early warning system to accelerate response time.
•Act as a opinion journalists, not just news reporters
•Establish processes to produce, maintain, and accelerate competitive analysis and enablement collateral such as battlecards, playbooks, Golden RFPs, etc.
•Serve as escalation point for deal support situations from the competitive war room and deals desks.
•Leverage testing of competitive offers to identify product gaps, competitive differentiation, and link the outputs to valuable sales and marketing collateral
•Lead and drive competitive enablement for sales, product management, and engineering.

Who You Are
•10+ years of technical expertise in ENB products (i.e. routing, campus switching, EN security, wireless)
•5+ years as an experienced leader of a team of senior technical subject matter experts
•Clear understanding of the competitive landscape and inflection points of the networking industry
•Demonstrable understanding of competitive intelligence processes and best practices
•Winning mentality
•Background from sales and/or product management preferred
