Hardware product quality escalation management. Act as liaison between Juniper and Juniper’s global contract manufacturing (CM) partners to resolve all quality and/or process related issues at the CM sites. Uses internal resources for problem resolution of day-to-day issues (whether they arise internally or at CM sites). Ensures contract CMs execute Juniper-defined processes, and drives them to corrective action when necessary. Fosters continuous improvement mind-set and activities at CM sites. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other engineers (Team Lead).
*Facilitates continuous improvement activities at CM sites. These may consist of on-site audits [10%], performance measurements, corrective action processes and fostering continuous improvement activities via weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews. As of result of these activities, creates new processes and/or policies. [20%]
*Independently manages root cause and corrective action activities. Manages presentation material and interacts directly with customer. [15%]
*Responsible for driving Root Cause Corrective Actions related to Field Returns ensuring corporate goals are met [15%]
*Manages Product Quality Engineering (Product PQE) projects of significant scope that require cross-functional participation and buy-off and have global impact and may affect policy changes company-wide. [10%]
.*Supports commodity teams as required.
*Supports internal process improvements by identifying and optimizing manufacturing processes required for building cost competitive and defect free products.
*Collaborates with Technical Operations, Component and Sustaining Engineering groups to resolve failure modes attributed to supplier or internal quality, manufacturing or design related deficiencies.
*Participates in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into new product releases.
*Supports MCO/ECO and Deviation activities as required ensuring they are complete and accurate prior to submitting and/or approving.
*Supports MRB activities as required.
*Participates in PQE strategic initiatives to ensure consistency and standardization within the organization.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
*Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with 2-5 years of work experience in manufacturing
*Familiarity and understanding of electronic assembly process including one or more: surface mount assembly, general electronic soldering operations, mechanical assembly, box build, system configuration processes.
*General knowledge of IPC specs (e.g., IPC-A-610) and industry circuit board standards.
*Must be flexible with working hours (after hours support as must work with global time zones) and working with different cultures. Language proficiency in Mandarin and Spanish is a plus.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Knowledge of Agile is a plus.
