McKesson Corporation is looking for a strong visionary leader in the Payroll industry to lead the US Payroll operations. McKesson is in the midst of a system implementation conversion, and this person will have the unique opportunity to provide substantial input on the Payroll design.
This individual will be responsible for the oversight of employee payments, payroll tax reporting, payroll accounting and to assure annual reporting is accurate and timely and will be located in our Las Colinas campus located in Irving, TX
The role will have direct management responsibility for a team of 4 and an expanded team of 32 in 3 locations.

McKesson exempt and non-exempt employees

Change Health care 9200 employees (TSA)
Review and Approval of wires, check requests, and bank funding.
Review and sign state tax applications
Managing people
4 Direct reports
32 in total group in 3 locations (Dallas, Houston, San Francisco)
Managing external vendor relationships
Manage third party vendors, ADP, Equifax, E&Y Global mobility, KRONOS.
M&A Due diligence
M&A due diligence – work with cross function team on M&A diligence, review and analysis payroll records and make recommendation to the McKesson Strategy and Business Development.
Provide direction on M&A integrations and tax structure review.
Strategy and Goals
Define key US Payroll strategies
Set payroll metrics and SLAs
Keep up to date on regulatory and compliance changes, and assure that payroll team implements changes in a timely fashion
Responsible for managing department budget, review variances with Payroll Accountant.
Collaboration
Key partner with HR, Benefits, and Compensation groups
Systems and Technology
Oversee system upgrades to KRONOS
Participate in, consult and help drive system conversion to Workday
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of payroll management experience and 3+ years of people management experience
Critical Skills
5+ years running payroll for a multi business unit company
CPP Certification
Peoplesoft or workday expertise
Experience managing employees across multiple locations
Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships
Experience with M&A due diligence and integration
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Global payroll experience helpful
Education
4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
