Director Sales Shangri-La Hotels And Resorts Abu Dhabi

The Director of Sales (DOS), under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing, is responsible for overseeing the day to day sales efforts of the Sales department and the implementation of the Shangri-La sales management system, training programs and sales activity plans set forth in the hotel’s Marketing Plan.The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of the local and international market, excellent written and spoken abilities, budgeting abilities and outstanding planning skills.Director of Sales must be able to leverage success to positively influence clients and Ambassadors.

The key funcitons of the role are as follows below but not limited to :-
Sales Functions

Implements sales policies and procedures of the hotel and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts.
Recommends contracted room rate structure including but not limited to corporate rates, wholesales rates, long stay rates, etc. ensuring maximum revenue generation.
Through the use of the Marketing Report Suite (MRS), participates in the development of marketing strategies for specific accounts or segments.

Marketing Functions

Assists Director of Sales & Marketing to develop,implement and keep current the various segments of the marketing communications plan relating to sales.
Keeps abreast of current and future competitors’ products, pricing, and sales programs and deploys resources to efficiently optimize RevPAR and achieve/maintain the leading market position.

Administration Functions

Provides continuous training for the sales team thereby creating a learning environment/culture.
Establishes and ensures that the Shangri-La Account Management is strictly adhered to by all personnel achieving maximum productivity levels.
Ensures compliance with SLIM Delphi standards and integrity of database
Be familiar with and use the sales & marketing software solutions, i.e. Nexus, Meeting Broker, and IDeaS in managing the sales accounts and optimize all revenue opportunities.
Implements approved sales incentive program to motivate and drive sales team to achieve/exceed the revenue aspiration of the hotel
Establishes sales targets, adjust sales coverage and distribute accounts in accordance to each sales manager’s strength and potential
Maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, and attitude towards al hotel guests, clients and employees.
Conducts day to day business and internal/external relations with code of conduct and Guiding Principle in mind in the spirit of “One Team, One Way”.


REQUIREMENTS

At least 5 years experience in large, luxury hotel sales & marketing
Exceptional Knowledge in Sales,Marketing,Revenue Management,Events management, Communications & reservation functions
Good command of English & Arabic is prefferable (written and oral)
Customer and revenue driven
Excellent People management & positive role model
Degree in Hospitality or Marketing or Business Administration
