The Global Outsourcing Control (GOC) Team is part of the Global Location Strategy team. The Global Location Strategy Team is an internal team that helps business units think strategically about HOW (Employee v. Vendor) and WHERE (CBD, Near Shore, Far Shore) their business or operation should be staffed and located. Global Location Strategy works with key stakeholders in identifying opportunities in Morgan Stanley’s metro sites to transition roles to offshore and near-shore sites and to execute on these plans in the most efficient way, all aligned to the Firm’s long term growth strategy.
The GOC Team manages the outsourcing control process for the Firm. This process was developed to obtain clearance for Business Units (BUs) seeking to outsource support of regulated functions to Morgan Stanley’s Global in-house Centers (GIC), and to 3rd party vendors.
This group is responsible for strategy and process improvements, assisting BU and tracking completion of Outsourcing Regulatory Requirements, client training and support, documenting the outsource proposal and supervision in an Intake Form, tracking/management of process until closure, metrics gathering and reporting, and system management. Stakeholder, especially across the Legal and Compliance division, and BU interaction is key to ensuring a successful transition and completion of each engagement.



Principal Responsibilities:

# Build and maintain relationships across the firm with supporting functions, including Operations, Tech and Data, Finance, HR, Corporate Services, Legal & Compliance, and leverage these relationships to resolve issues in order to ensure seamless completion of their engagements.



# Work with our Global team and counterparts to plan the timing and execution of location strategy moves, Outsourcing Regulatory Requirements and other GOC deliverables.



# Shows strong emphasis towards data integrity to track and report progress of each engagement under management, to plan appropriately whilst ensuring risks and issues are identified, escalated and resolved



# Shepherd Intake Forms through the multiple project phases and ensuring the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.



# Provide project management support for the entire lifecycle of a Transition, to ensure that all project related deliverables are met (i.e., completion of calls, required outsourcing documentation, and outsourcing regulatory requirements), and also that project status reporting is in place.



# Host or participate in GOC forums with senior management to ensure transparency of issues and to discuss strategy and process improvement.



# Develop a strong understanding of outsourcing regulatory requirements as they relate to outsourcing and how the Firm must meet those requirements.

# Strong attention to detail, communication and organizational skills

# Ability to work autonomously under pressure to meet tight deadlines

# Strong system skills in Excel, and SAP Business Objects

# Ability to work independently as well as in a team

# Ability to identify and lead process improvements with a view to rolling out across multiple projects
