Director Retail Pricing AMER Expedia Bellevue

This role is an integral part of the Global Retail Pricing team within our Global Retail team, responsible for delivering scalable pricing solutions and systems, with an emphasis on Algorithmic Development and Statistical Modelling. You will be supporting our Global supply, product and Marketing teams implementing short and long term pricing opportunities to drive the commercial strategy.
Responsibilities
You will set our AMER Flight, package and car pricing strategy. Work closely with all pricing partners (e.g. EI’s brands, Global Technology Organization, Market Management, Finance) to ensure all are aligned behind a single strategy and testing plan.
You will deliver pricing recommendations by using robust financial and statistical analysis to set optimal prices by destination, channel, customer segment etc. and organize these into actionable pricing test plans. You build business cases to rationalize investment/risk where necessary.
You define and implement the operational processes used for pricing and gathering competitor intelligence.
Supporting our Regional Retail leads you will actively monitor EI’s business/performance and identify new growth and revenue optimization opportunities for the company.
You regularly communicate to our leadership and other partner’s updates on our position, pricing test results, and progress on pricing projects. Provide them with the market and industry information needed to make strategic decisions. Support needs for ad-hoc reporting and presentations as required
You will handle multiple complex projects to continue to enhance our Pricing systems, improving its accuracy, scale and velocity.
You develop metrics (both operational and management critical metrics) to measure our position and prioritize the actions of our management teams and set goals for price optimization at a detailed level. Support the day-to-day operational use of these metrics with Retail commercial teams and Finance.
You drive the development of technology and tools related to pricing. Define requirements for the product/technology pipeline.
You develop a deep understanding of our industry and its economics, and the dynamics within the AMER market.
Skills & Experience:
Previous Revenue Management experience, with focus on supply and demand dynamics, price elasticity, customers behavior, and business strategies
Extraordinary quantitative analysis, problem solving, and technical skills
Understanding and experience with a range of Revenue Management tools, technologies and statistical optimization models/techniques
Strong business sense and logical skills to balance decision making with intuition
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Experience leading cross-functional projects and supporting large numbers of stakeholders. You are able to work well and drive consensus in a matrix environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present issues, ideas and recommendations in verbal, written and presentation formats
Detail orientated with great organizational skills and a solid track record of delivering significant projects with a material impact on a company's financials
Desire and capability to lead, coach, and develop a performing team.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, with demonstrated experience in modeling, analysis, and creating presentations. Experience with SAS or R is a plus
Self-motivation and the capacity to work effectively with tight deadlines
5 or more years of related experience in a managerial and/or analytical role.
Travel industry and online retail experience is an advantage
Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques and technologies
