Blackboard’s Teaching & Learning team is looking for a knowledgeable, innovative marketing leader to join our Solutions Product Management and Marketing Team. We’re focused on helping client institutions, schools and companies solve their big challenges with teaching and learning software and services. As the Director, Product Marketing, you will play a key role in crafting and communicating Blackboard’s openness story internally and to the global education community.
The Director, Product Marketing will develop a deep understanding of the Teaching & Learning space, available solutions from Blackboard and the competition. S/he will apply this understanding to a support a variety premium content based marketing programs and initiatives to strengthen the position of Blackboard in this market. These programs will support Blackboard’s product excellence, client experience and sales effectiveness focus.
The Director, Product Marketing plays an integral role in the success of Blackboard as the best education partner institutions and corporations, by enabling though leadership. Specifically, s/he will be responsible for:
Managing the teaching and learning premium content, thought leadership products and publications for Bb globally.
Keeping up to date and profoundly understanding educational trends, customer challenges, personas, institutions, influencers, events and the teaching and learning space in general.
Produce, maintain and deliver the necessary content assets that are part of these programs with a global perspective.
Coordinate involvement of local resources in sales and marketing teams when appropriate.
Work with external agencies for content production and sourcing
Support regional community marketing efforts.
Measuring results for programs directly and getting appropriate feedback from the territory in a way that allows for optimizing results.
Measuring and monitoring positioning and brand perception internally and externally.
Managing the resources involved: all internal and external resources pertinent.
Defining and managing program budgets, team budgets.
Managing visual communication, design language, digital agencies and other providers as needed to deliver these programs.
Coordinating the internal engagement of this content products
Aligning with global go to markets for content effectiveness
Responding to needs and opportunities in coordination with marketing, PR, and sales functions.

Professional Qualifications

The candidate should have a solid foundation in the content marketing practice, business administration or engineering. Experience in the technology space is ideal. The ability to guide and work with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, and the ability to effectively communicate at a senior level both internally and externally.

The role will require up to 50% of time with international and domestic travel and the ability to work in a high tempo and demanding international culture.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
B.A./B.Sc. degree or equivalent in business administration, engineering or technical discipline.
At least 8 years of experience in content marketing practices or role
At least 4 years of marketing and operational experience working in sophisticated international enterprise technology markets. Career will demonstrate a track record of growth, with strong exposure to international markets and extensive interaction with teams globally.
Strong planning and rigorous project management skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize, be detail-oriented.
Experience contributing to major company-wide marketing projects in a business to business context, such as rebranding, website redesign and relaunch, digital campaign
execution.
Native-equivalent fluency in speaking and writing English required; excellent writing and presentation skills required.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience in the education and eLearning market is ideal
Confident and professional style and be used to working closely with senior management, and be a credible representative of the business with senior customers and at industry events. In addition, the candidate will be able to operate in a collegial manner in complex cross-functional organization.
