Director Diversity & Inclusion eBay San Francisco

Job Description: • 2-minute read •
This is an inaugural role at eBay and represents the growth of eBay’s recently established Global Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) team. If you are the person for this role, you run towards opportunities that offer increased autonomy, global exposure, strategic and tactical engagement and the ability to help design foundational and first-ever movements. You take pride in “breaking glass,” helping people to get comfortable with the uncomfortable, and translating “real talk” conversations into tangible initiatives and long-term progress. You have a growth mindset and are open to different perspectives, but you are also experienced at “pushing back” – across levels – in a way that demonstrates conviction and diplomacy, when necessary. You are already “woke” to the fact that meaningful D&I progress doesn’t happen overnight and you’re therefore able to block out the noise that says otherwise.
In this D&I Director role you will not only be responsible for helping to realize the goals put forward in eBay’s existing diversity and inclusion strategy, but also for infusing new ideas into future strategies. You will report directly to eBay’s Chief Diversity Officer and lead as their “right hand” on all D&I-related initiatives. We’re seeking candidates whose education, perspectives, and experience enable them to provide on-the-ground vision, leadership and counsel on matters of diversity and inclusion, collaborate across functions to create a welcoming and respectful environment that embraces diversity as a dimension of excellence, and promotes a culture of openness and inclusion as we build the new eBay.
