The Director of Category Management and Insights leads all aspects related to Category Management, Category Advisory, Shopper and Consumer Insights. Active involvement in the selling and planning processes across core categories and delivering key insights related to sales and share metrics, industry insights, customer/shopper behaviors and retail trends. Responsible for having integral input into the strategic planning and execution initiatives with the customer while ensuring category alignment for the company. Role will be actively engaged and highly visible across multiple levels of leadership both internally and externally.
• Leading and directing the Team responsible for Category Advisory and Shopper and Consumer Insights
• Strategic Collaboration with the Account and Sales to achieve Category Objectives
• Develop and deploy consistent category sales reports utilizing both internal and syndicated data sources
• Provide fact-based thought leadership to influence and drive customer strategies
• Maintain strong communication with the Account Merchandising Leadership Team
• Provide actionable and fact-based presentations to Product Marketing Teams based on Category insights and trends
• Ensure cross-functional alignment both internally and externally

• Category Performance as measured by syndicated data; Account and Company objective attainment (share growth)

Necessary Skills / Attributes
10+yrs of experience and working knowledge with Walmart and Retail Link
• Mastery of syndicated data systems and ability to translate into fact-based presentations
• Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations at different organizational levels
• Ability to influence people and decision makers across all levels of the organization
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proven People Manager
Self-starter, passionate and driven by results
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel)
• College degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
