As Director, Architecture, you will use your virtualization industry expertise and hands-on EUC experience to both manage architectural projects, as well as influence key stakeholders. Building on your technical as well as communication/interpersonal skills, along with experience both in engineering as well as business contexts, you will be the SME to external audiences regarding VMware’s EUC and desktop strategy. This is a highly visible role, you will both evangelize our mission to C-level audiences (both internal and external), as well as help lead the technical discussion regarding regarding project scope and key considerations as organizations continue to align with and adopt VMware EUC products. You will have direct engagement with VMware as well customer decision makers across various levels in the organization and help drive technology strategy across our key SISO’s. This is a global role for someone that has both technical leadership, industry vision, and can lead cross functional and direct teams of highly skilled Customer Solution Architects.
Ability to communicate with and influence key LOB stakeholders as C-level audience.
Expert at presenting at key industry events
Broad understanding of enterprise architecture, with strengths in client technologies, virtualization, storage technologies, networking as well as various application delivery technologies.
Comfortable having a technical discussion with both desktop architects and industry analysts.
Familiarity with and ability to discuss various storage technologies, from all-flash arrays, to the latest hyper-converged appliances.
Working understanding of latest nVidia graphics technologies and how they are leveraged in a VMware Horizon environment.
Literate discussing latest trends relative to Microsoft, including Office 365 and Windows 10.
Able to guide a discussion with customers, starting with their desired use case, and determine the most appropriate EUC architecture and solution.
Experience and Skills
Proven track record of successful customer & partner engagements
Experienced/recognized speaker at industry events, such as VMworld
In depth knowledge of desktop virtualization technologies both on-premises and cloud technologies
Experience with design, installation, configuration and management of enterprise desktop virtualization technologies.
Virtualization infrastructure experience with VMware vSphere.
Windows desktop OS administration and image management
Active directory-permissions, OU, group, user, group policy mgt
Professional Services delivery experience a big plus.
