Senior Director R&D Concur Mobile Bellevue

As Senior Director of Development for Concur Mobile you report directly to the VP of R&D for Mobile in San Francisco. You have responsibility for Concur’s flagship mobile application, Concur Mobile. Concur Mobile is deployed worldwide with millions of active users across companies from every industry. You are a key member of the leadership team for Mobile technology at Concur, guiding the technical direction to enable our product, and working closely with your partners in the Product organization to build what our customers most need.
Your team is globally distributed with local management throughout, and is eager to learn from your technical and managerial background, as well as teach you. You will take our current Mobile technology forward towards componentization, shared code across Concur’s mobile assets, streamlined Agile processes and Build-Measure-Learn opportunities, continuous integration and delivery schemes, and delivering crash-free sessions in excess of 99% for all users. This is a very visible role within Concur with responsibility and influence touching many parts of our company.


Responsibilities:


Drives product delivery thorough Agile development methodologies.
Ensures consistent technical development progress on multiple projects in a matter consistent with strategic goals and priorities.
Enables and encourages the organization to react quickly to changing business needs.
Establishes metrics to manage efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, and cost.
Collaborates with Architects and Project Management to refine high-level scope, architecture, and technical strategy for product development.
Establishes procedural standards for the development process that ensures high quality and customer satisfaction with our products.
Motivates a staff of skilled engineers and managers to do their best work.
Surfaces and solves challenges through continuous improvement efforts.
Selects, trains, and develops departmental personnel.
Identifies opportunities for training and professional development of staff.
Conducts performance appraisals in accordance with corporate guidelines.
Creates and manages the Development budget to meet division objectives.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Other duties may be assigned.
Is aware of, and complies with, all corporate policies.
Position Requirements

Qualifications
Education, Experience & Training Required:


BS or BA in Computer Science or relevant field.
Direct experience authoring or supporting native mobile code (either iOS or Android are acceptable) against server-side capabilities.
Four or more years of managing a large Software Development organization for design, development and testing of high-end software products.
Two or more years of managing a team through a management layer (e.g., this person’s direct reports are managers themselves).
Experience managing in an Agile development environment.
Previous experience managing multiple resources and projects.
10+ years prior software development experience with a variety of programming languages.
Ability to pass a background check.
