Director Portfolio Decision Analysis Pfizer New York

This is a pivotal role managing the multiple project management and portfolio systems that enable R&D decision making at every level within Pfizer, both within PDA, and beyond. Leading a team of five colleagues, the role has substantial breadth, supporting the entire span of assets from Discovery through loss of exclusivity. Customers throughout the organization, in Global Product Development (GPD), Pfizer Innovative Health (PIH), Pfizer Essential Health (PEH), the Partner Lines and Worldwide Research & Development (WRD) will depend on you and your team to effectively manage one of the largest Project and Portfolio Management implementations in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Deep experience in large scale Portfolio and/or Project Management and Planning systems is a prerequisite for this role; this experience must include direct accountability for operational support, and demonstrable experience with enterprise-scale technical implementations. You will also need exceptional ability to manage change across a highly matrixed organization; collaborating effectively with stakeholders at every level in the organization.

You will be expected to play a thought leadership role in driving a sustained program of improvements to our platforms, improving system efficiency and usability, enhancing capabilities and coordinating large scale system releases with minimal business disruption. Such improvements span both technical and business process domains, and you must be equally adept in both spaces.

Responsibilities

• Manages Team of Portfolio Operations Specialists
• Oversees footprint of Portfolio Systems, including, but not limited to: Enrich, Snapshot, Planisware and supporting RAPID (Resource & Planning Insights for Decisions) Components, and the RAPID Hub ;
Ensures high quality and continuity of service
Manages Update cycles and new deployments
• Actively engages with business stakeholders at all levels in the organization to ensure optimum service delivery
• Manages Portfolio Operations Budget
• In partnership with Business Stakeholders, drives continuous improvement of Portfolio Management tools and systems through an active program of release management, new capabilities development and long term strategic planning.
• Co-chair of RAPID Standards and Business Process Team, Member of RAPID Strategy and Implementation team
• Partners closely with Business Technology (BT) and other support organizations to deliver and enhance technical platform capabilities

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of applicable experience in management of Enterprise-scale Project &/or Portfolio Management software systems, which must include one or more of: Planisware, Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) or Enrich Platforms.
• Direct experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and associated Methodologies such as change control, communication, testing and quality management
• At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Demonstrable experience with large scale technology implementations
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed, global environment
• Experienced user of reporting software (e.g. Business Objects, Spotfire, Tableau).
• Minimum Bachelor-level degree or equivalent experience.
• Project/Portfolio Management certification a plus
