The Director of Industry & Competitors who leads and manages a multinational team of six specialists will need to build on current activities to broaden and deepen monitoring of markets and competitors and champion the team’s insights to ensure they are embedded in deeply in line management teams.
Leading the Industry & Competitor Team you will:
- Set direction for industry & competitor intelligence team’s activities to monitor, assess and predict the company’s external market context and competitors. Ideate and drives expanded intelligence agenda to broaden external knowledge.
- Lead & manage a global team of seven based in Enfield, Billund and Munich. Reinforce global GI culture & operating model.
- Coach team members to achieve objectives, deliver high quality insights and develop. Lead change during period of rapidly evolving expectations and requirements for function.
- Support executives (VP+ level) with synthesized and strategic insights.
- Engage actively with Global Insight peers to drive continual improvement of Global Insights discipline.

The Global Insights Industry & Competitors team delivers intelligence on the company’s external environment by monitoring, assessing and predicting developments in industry sectors & competitors. The output of the team has a strong influence on company decision-making on a strategic and operational level. Key intelligence activities include:

- Systematically monitoring competitors’ strategies, portfolios and go-to-market strategies and activation.
- Analyzing and reporting syndicated performance tracking data for 15 countries, as well as profiling industries, categories, competitors, etc, to address stakeholder needs.
- Proactively identifying and assessing competitive threats and working with management to address them.
- Developing a market intelligence platform that supports gathering and assessing insights from employees and partners.
We’re looking for a market and competitor intelligence expert who has:
- 10+ years’ experience in Competitor Intelligence, including leading a Competitive Intelligence functions. Experience in a consumer goods industry preferred and global experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership, preferably leading insight specialists. Ability to lead and inspire, and ability to lead a team through change.
- Ability to develop and implement a competitor intelligence monitoring system.
- Ability to produce highly synthesized, succinct and actionable deliverables for executives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Highly experienced in data analysis and Microsoft Office tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree, with Master’s degree preferred.
- This position requires availability to travel internationally, approximately 5-8 weeks per year.
