Our Product Managers are data-driven decision makers that own their domain. They draw insights from qualitative and quantitative sources with the goal of defining features for our future products. You will work alongside multiple product managers, engineers, quality assurance team members, and regional partners to build the next generation of eBay products that affect 150+ million users.
Responsibilities
Motivates and energizes the team by defining a clear and inspiring “Vision” and ‘Values’ for the product.
Leads a team of product managers
Responsible for the sourcing and hiring of new team members; constantly raising the talent bar
Creates strong partnerships with the Regions, Marketing, Legal, Ops, Customers, Engineering, QE, Design and other key partners and stakeholders
Sets and defines strategy for the Product
Leads Discovery of features for Delivery phase.
Data driven opportunity sizing
Drives thought experiments, testing ideas/hypotheses quickly and coming to the right conclusions
Accounts for market conditions and conducts comparative assessments to inform requirements
Plans time for discovery with the team
Demonstrates the value created with each iteration and build momentum for the team’s effort
Proactively optimizes or ensures the health of the product via daily review of KPI/ metrics and monthly health checks
Ensures the team understands each user story and its value
Represents product externally while partnering with product marketing and public relations. Where appropriate, defines the customer acquisition strategy for marketing.
Ruthlessly prioritizes and prunes the backlog taking into account multiple dimensions like customer value, effort and risk. Defines the right balance between short and long term objectives and reflects that in the backlog.
Makes rapid decisions based on thin sliced customer value
Builds influence across product teams to reduce/eliminate/negotiate dependencies by advocating a low dependency team formation or re-looking at how work is executed

Accountabilities:
Building the right product at the right time, through incremental delivery and co-discovery with customers and the team
Driving the outcome(s) that will make your product successful. Own customer outcomes and measures of success.
Defining acceptance criteria and testing and accepting stories as “done”
Up-to-date, defensible, prioritized backlog across the team
Proactively managing conflicting requirements and co-dependencies with other teams, rapidly and effectively negotiating and reprioritizing as appropriate
Sunsets products / features / etc when they are no longer contributing value, or we are not dedicated to keeping the product “alive”
