Job description
Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of medication management including supply, distribution, quality assurance, drug/dosage for patients, drug information, pharmacokinetics dosing, sterile product manufacturing, narcotic control, drug utilization review, and anticoagulation management. Assures compliance with regulatory and other agency requirements, laws, and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department. Prepares and administers departmental budget. Ensures that appropriate medical staff drug utilization is in place via Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Infection Control Committees.


Qualifications:

Required:

· Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy degree

· Valid Michigan licensure as a Registered Pharmacist

· Valid Michigan Controlled substance license

· Three to five years in a clinical pharmacy position

· Two year supervisory experience

· Ability to make decisions using sound judgment based on analytical analysis, business knowledge and MHC policies

· Ability to effectively communicate and present self to patients, physicians, referral sources and the general public in a courteous, professional and poised manner

· Ability to interpret financial statements

· Ability to work in a team oriented environment

Preferred:

· Eight to ten years of hospital experience

· Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. degree or Master’s Degree in business or health-related field
