A dynamic and energetic leader with overall accountability for the planning, strategy and successful execution of software testing and the management of a diversified team in multiple highly complex software testing projects across multiple development platforms and in multiple locations in support of the Global Freestyle Center.

The ideal candidate will have experience making technical decisions and influencing senior leadership and will lead, direct, develop and inspire others to create a team that is proficient in building test plans, execution curves and providing detailed plans on system testing with embedded software. Will be accountable for strategic leadership including providing test estimates for future releases while executing and tracking test progress for current releases.
This position will manage associate Sr. test leads, software test technicians and contractors to ensure delivery of the objectives of the Freestyle E&I team and to fulfill formal managerial responsibilities, ensuring compliance of self and direct reports with all Human Resources and Department policies.
Responsibilities:
Supports the advancement of and provides thought leadership for the development of mid and long term strategies to ensure the quality of software on multiple platforms, systems and projects.
Provides strategy and leadership in large testing efforts for application software, embedded software and firmware for custom applications with custom hardware.
Takes ownership and accountability of deployed software and support of sustaining releases with escape analysis on defects arising from the field.

Experience:
20 years in the software development and testing field.
15+ years testing distributed software architecture and software configuration.
5+ years testing embedded systems and C/C++/scripting with automation
5+ years working on embedded systems and also supporting BSP/drivers.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
Master’s degree is preferred.

Technical Requirements:
Deep knowledge of windows application development in embedded space.
Knowledge of testing custom hardware with firmware and embedded software.
Expert knowledge of SDLC in multiple development life cycle models (i.e. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Experience with automated unit testing built into the development life cycle.
Excellent verbal/listening and written communication skills to inform, influence and negotiate with senior leadership.
Prior people management experience with diverse teams.
Management of teams to build scalable software test systems.
Leading teams in test cycles and reporting test statistics for multiple simultaneous releases.
Ability to provide risk mitigation strategies and build scalable test processes.
Experience with end to end life cycle requirements, development and testing of multiple releases.
