This Director, Partnership Development Office (1) evaluating, developing, and managing strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures, (2) coordinating resources and activities necessary to accomplish partnerships that span the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, (3) is the primary point of interface with the National Cancer Institute for coordinating partnerships between FNLCR and the extramural community, and (4) providing leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D./M.D. degree in a field related to cancer research or doctorate in Public Administration from an accredited college or university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
Eight (8) years of progressively responsible related experience
In-depth working knowledge of current practices within the Technology Transfer arena
Knowledge of and experience with Intellectual Property protection as it relates to Life Sciences
Previous contract, partnership or Strategic Alliance negotiation experience.
Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working within a NCI-designated Cancer Center
Experience working at a national laboratory (FFRDC)
Experience with launching successful alliances involving several of the following Life Science capabilities: preclinical in vivo models, imaging, complex assay cascades, multi-lab experimental studies, biocomputing, and/or experimental clinical biomarkers
Experience with cancer research and medical oncology
