The successful candidate will be an innovative technologist and people manager with a proven track record of leading transformations of network technology from traditional operating paradigms to fully automation and API driven models. The candidate will have an understanding of how to match industry trends in network technology to PayPal’s unique technology and business challenges. He/she will be expected to have a solid background in people management, cloud/software based networking, and building/operating highly available networks. In particular, the ideal candidate will understand the opportunities and challenges in transforming and growing the network environment and be aggressive in addressing them. The successful candidate will be a thought leader who will influence and engage peers, partners and senior leaders in the company on the direction of network technology. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits will be crucial. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in cross-functional teams while being a hands-on contributor. He / she will have the technical knowledge to lead product development, infrastructure engineering and operations resources related to network technology while creating a collaborative working environment. The position is based at PayPal’s office in San Jose, California.
