Creative Director Daydream Google Mountain View

As a Creative Director you will lead the creative team within Daydream, envision the future of content for Daydream and guide our creative and technical teams to produce compelling, world-class experiences that will fulfill the potential of virtual reality at Google. You will partner with the production team to oversee story, art, design and audio, and lead studio talent to produce experiences on-time and at the highest standard of quality. This role is for the experienced leader, designer, writer, organizer and visionary who is ready and eager to pioneer and innovate in the epic challenge of forging a new medium.

The Google Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality team is a fast moving group of engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked with building the foundations for great immersive and augmented reality apps and prototyping novel, delightful user experiences. We are focused on making virtual reality accessible to millions of people through mobile devices, and its scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities
Work closely with internal teams and external studios to help create game changing VR/AR experiences for users.
Use creative and innovative thinking, applying principles, theories and concepts to a wide-range of problems through effective implementation of ideas, monitor the overall quality of team output and provide direction and leadership.
Create a climate that encourages and cultivates imagination, new ideas, best practices and fresh perspectives. Encourage others toward unrestrained thinking and extreme ideas directed toward effective implementation of business solutions, and establish a climate of joint efforts between clients, game studios and Google.
Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship across a multi-disciplinary organization of interaction designers, visual designers, prototypers, etc. Lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms and devices.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience within games development/design.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:
Working experience in a senior creative position within a large, domestic or international game studio.
Understanding of branding concepts and activities.
Ability to thrive in a rapid-paced environment, working on multiple projects in a scrappy, start-up atmosphere.
Possess outstanding communication skills, with the ability to describe potentially complex creative solutions with clear, straightforward and inspirational language.
