Director - Corporate Business Development - Aol - New York


Job description
In this high-profile and diversified role supporting all business units, you’ll report to the VP, Corporate Business Development and use your well-honed business acumen to identify strategic opportunities to extend the audience and revenue growth of AOL’s media properties and platforms. This may involve performing market sizing / research and competitive landscape overviews, evaluating new AOL growth opportunities (both revenue and audience) and producing ROI and IRR financial models on emerging businesses.


Leveraging your broad knowledge of publisher platforms and technologies, content syndication and the internet advertising sector, you will identify key media and technology partners and expeditiously structure, negotiate and close partnership deals.

You will further act as a thought leader by providing strategic insights and recommendations to business leaders across AOL’s content, product and advertising offerings and interface with our internal Legal, Technology, and Sales teams to ensure the feasibility of deals from those perspectives.

With an MBA and 7+ years’ experience in an internet, media or technology startup environment, you are well prepared for this role. But it is your expert-level knowledge of emerging technologies, internet business models and digital media and your entrepreneurial and creative spirit that will guarantee your success. Desired Skills and Experience


Experience leading all aspect of deals from start to finish

Minimum of 7 years of Business Development and/or internet / media experience

MBA required

Demonstrated success for analyzing and executing partnerships

Must possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, and be organized, focused, and extremely articulate, with the ability to interact confidently with deal constituents

Outstanding communication skills

Experience effectively managing a team of professionals both in a direct and indirect reporting capacity

Expertise in financial analysis, modeling and deal making is essential

Skilled in strategic analysis of industries, businesses and internal operations

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Direct industry knowledge of the online and generally the interactive consumer sectors preferred
