Director of Venture Investment is an exciting new position for a hands-on, results-oriented investment director. The core mission will be to identify strategic investment opportunities in early stage startups and participate in the deal execution process from a preliminary due diligence to term sheet negotiation in a range of market spaces including mobility, analytics and cloud. He or she will also participate in building technology partnerships with start-ups that receive funding. This position would require a clear understanding of Samsung SDS’ solution strategy and roadmap and a proactive engagement with venture capital community to source strategic investment opportunities.

Network with venture capitalists, accelerators and entrepreneurs to identify potential strategic investment or partnership opportunities
Develop and manage technology partnerships with start-ups
Evaluate and conduct due diligence on specific opportunities to assess attractiveness and build rationale for strategic investment
Coordinate among all stakeholders internally to drive a potential deal from beginning to end
Develop strategic themes and actionable investment thesis in areas of strategic relevance to Samsung SDS
Mandatory Skills:
Undergraduate degree in technical field along with MBA preferred
15+ years of experience in technology fields, with a substantial portion in venture investment, partnership development or business development roles
5+ years of recent experience in, and knowledge of, Software as a Service, big data, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and enterprise mobility products
Preferred:
Strong network and relationship with top tier venture capitalists
Business or technical majors
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong planning, project and organizational skills
Knowledge of technologies in the areas of Software as a Service, big data, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and enterprise mobility
Strong sense of technology trends and passionate about innovations in enterprise IT
Ability to work independently and with team
Ability to travel
