Prepare and maintain the University's Energy Master Plan for short, intermediate, and long-range goals and objectives in support of achieving NYU’s campus carbon neutrality by 2040. Oversee responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the campus co-generation facility including maintaining the efficient and reliable delivery of utilities to campus clients.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or an energy infrastructure-related four year technical engineering degree.

Required Experience:
Ten (10) years of related experience in a large corporate or not for profit setting. Experience with life cycle costing, data collection and analysis, managing energy efficiency projects and assessing their technical impacts and payback on the investment. Understanding of HVAC, lighting and control systems and energy efficiency concepts. Ten (10) years of related experience in the operation and maintenance of a co-generation or power plant. Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections for energy savings performance contracts and/or payback analysis. Proven experience with building simulation, project estimating, measurement and verification, auditing and commissioning of large commercial properties. Financial planning and budget experience. Advanced proficiency with energy analysis software and plant SCADA systems and control logic. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships. Valid driver license, in good standing, issued by a state of residence. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ten (10) years of experience in energy analysis and project management, preferably in the energy or building systems area. Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated history of problem solving and initiative. Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task. Ten (10) years of related experience in the operation and maintenance of a co-generation or power plant. Self-motivated and detail-oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Ability to work effectively, independently, or collaboratively as part of a team. Fluent in MS Office and MS Project, as well as an understanding and working knowledge of databases. Excellent working knowledge of building automation and energy management systems, facility operations, and installation projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, building automation, LED lighting technology and controls, energy conservation, or distributed generation projects.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Certified Energy Manager preferred.
